Brent's turning one!!!

I just can't believe it! He's grows so fast. I just can't believe it's been one year since I gave birth to a fat baby boy. I've barely blinked my eyes and now he's turning one. Oh my gosh! I've learned that no matter how much you savor each and every moment, it still doesn't make the time go any slower. It still passes by you in a flash.

If there is anything in my life that I should be proud of, it's giving birth and mothering two of the most bright and spirited little human beings on this earth.

Happy Birthday, Brent. Mommy, daddy, and Ashlyn love you so so much.

Here's his birthday invitation that I created...

At the house, at sunset

We were hanging around in the backyard the other evening at sunset so I thought I'd break out the camera and play with lighting and movement.

Here's Trapper getting hosed down after a long, hot day...

And Ashlyn twirling around and playing in her "princess dress."

Some pics from the last few weeks...

Well we've been really busy, as usual, with work and everyday stuff. Brent got his first REAL haircut about 6 weeks ago. The first pics here are of him while I was trying to cuts his hair. Jade was taking the hair clippings and putting them on his upper lip....It was so funny! We all had a good laugh with that.

Ashlyn: riding her big girl bike again...Something she loves to do.
Out in the yard, messing around.

My big, slobbery, chocolate lab, Trapper.

A fuzzy picture I took with my camera phone. But hey, I got them together, and actually looking at me, so I posted it!

A different try at post processing....an old-school finish.
My sweet man at 10 months old!

Crawling away. Man! He can get on hands and feet and crab walk his way around everywhere in a matter of seconds! But now (at 11 months old), he's starting to standing up by himself and actually take 9-10 steps on his own! Not much longer and he'll be walking everywhere in a matter of seconds too, and gettting into everything!!!

Erica's 14!!!

Well we went down to the old Hartwell depot area and took some pictures. We had fun, didn't we Erica? I think she was a giggly, nervous girl the beginning of the session. Then toward the end, she was comfortable and ready for anything.

She's getting older quicker than I can blink my eyes. I remember when aunt Cheryl was pregnant with her! And I remember chasing her around in the floor while she crawled as fast as she could everywhere.

Wow. Where did the time go?

Now she's whopping 14!!! Whoa. She'll be driving down the road in her own car, before we know it. (What out everbody.) :o)

Thursday, July 31, 2008

Well I finally managed to get a couple of pictures of both of my kids together. I haven't been able to get a decent one of them together since Brent was 5 weeks old! No, these recents still aren't perfection, but they'll certainly do! My children are constantly photographed and constantly fussing about it, so to get a decent one of them together just thrills me to pieces! As a photographer, it's much more difficult to take pictures of my own kids than it is of other children. Whew! A lot of work, but well worth it.

We went to a really pretty place downtown Athens. It ws so pretty!

My 9 Month Old Son in a Teacup...

Okay, so I felt I HAD to do something for his 9 month pictures but I just wasn't sure what. When I saw this teacup, I knew just what to do with it.

What a ham he is! He loves having his picture taken...for now.

Her "Big Girl Bike"

Ashlyn got a bicycle for her birthday. She calls it her "big girl bike." She's getting the hang of it. So much fun to watch.

Happy Birthday, Ashlyn!

We celebrated Ashlyn's 3rd birthday on the 12th at our house and had a great time. There a lot more people than I anticipated, but there was plenty of food and fun to go round! Ashlyn stayed in her bathing suit the entire time since she and her little friends were in and out of the pools the whole time.

My sweet little baby girl...Yesterday she was a soft, warm, pink bundle resting content and helpless in my arms...And now today, here she is with her own opinions and joyous giggles. I love her so much.

Playing on the SLide

Ashlyn loves playing on her friend Layton's slide. She has so much fun on that thing! I wish we had some shade in our yard. Then we could get one for her to have as her own. Right now, without shade, I'm afraid the hot sun would make the slide too hot to sit on.

She still has fun going to Layton's house to visit and play!
